Retaliation by the Alaska Dept. of Corrections

Our upcoming documentary will reveal the truth behind the lies and retaliation by the Alaska Dept. of Corrections leadership.

Since late November 2023, the Deputy Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Corrections (AK DOC) in Anchorage began bullying and mistreating an employee. Despite reaching out to various ASEA representatives and State of Alaska employees, including his supervisor in Juneau, the mistreatment persisted. In December 2023, the employee also spoke with the Deputy Commissioner in Juneau, who assured him she would address the issue. In January 2024, when she asked if the situation had improved, he stated 'No.'

After enduring over five months of mistreatment, the employee took action. On the morning of filing his official complaint with the State of Alaska on May 8th, 2024, he also sent a copy of the documentation to the AK DOC Commissioner in a final attempt to seek intervention and rectify the abuse. Unfortunately, she took no action.

Approximately a week later, his supervisor suspiciously scheduled an evaluation meeting, despite no prior counseling or documented issues — the first mention of any evaluation during his nine month tenure. On May 16th, 2024, the employee resigned from his position. The following day, May 17th, 2024, he received an evaluation filled with falsehoods. Sections II, III, and IV were even left completely blank, revealing the undocumented, baseless and retaliatory nature of the claims made against him.

This website and the documentary we are producing will chronicle the abuse and retaliation from the evidence we have gathered through various sources.

Governor Dunleavy and the leadership at the Alaska Department of Corrections must be held accountable for these actions. The people of Alaska deserve transparency and justice.
